     If you are interested in a unique way of promoting THE book release on July 21st, I’ve got a great idea that has worked for several books stores and libraries over the past few J.K. Rowling releases.  When you bring in Julian Franklin to entertain Potter fanatics, you get more than just a fantastic draw.  You get...

  • Access to over 400 magic fanatics (my mailing list) who will travel the city to see a free performance of mine.  These are people who have paid $250-$325 to have me perform in their homes.  I mail to them at MY expense telling them about the event.
  • Media Coverage.  Every year I’ve performed as a wizard to promote a Harry Potter book release, I’ve been on the television news.  Your store or library could be the next to get this publicity which you couldn’t buy for 100 times my fee.  Again, I alert the media at MY trouble and cost.

Rowling books.  They'll buy those anyway.  I'm talking about selling out of books on: Magic, biographies of Houdini, books on astronomy, books on owls, books on rats, books on dragons, books on puppets, and a slew of other subjects.  I just got a letter this week from Martha Heckathorn, a school librarian at Brookhaven Elementary in Killeen, Texas.  She wrote to say "Your show was AWESOME!  Whatever subjects you talk about (rabbits, magic, puppets, etc.) those books fly off the shelves."  To a librarian that means circulation, but to a book store it is money in the bank.
